Sunday marked the 13th annual edition of the Amherstburg GONE CRAZY car show. Doors opened at 7am for the eager beavers, though truth be told, I got there at 7:12 and was promptly handed registration card number 127!
As this is my hometown show, I’ve tried to attend each and every one of them either as a participant or a spectator. Previously I showed my dark cherry red, 40th Anniversary, 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP.
This year, however, I debuted my new-to-me 1998 Pontiac Firebird. Though it’s “only” a six cylinder, the appeal of this car is undeniable as was evidenced by the large number of show-goers who stopped to take a closer look.
In terms of the show itself, I can’t imagine it could have gone any better. The weather was perfect, the streets were packed, the ice cream was delicious, and best of all…rumour has it… there were more than 700 cars on display. WOWZERS!
I’d like to send a special thank you to all those people who organized, volunteered, and sponsored the event. I’m already looking forward to next year.
